Kanpur Green Park Pitch Gets Bcci Vps Attention

Kanpur: Green Park pitch gets BCCI VP's attention

Rajeev Shukla, Vice President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), expressed his concerns about the pitch at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur during a recent visit.

Shukla had a length discussion with the pitch curator about improving the quality of the pitch

Shukla's visit came after concerns were raised about the pitch's behavior during the recently concluded Ranji Trophy match between Uttar Pradesh and Mumbai, and for the upcoming India-New Zealand Test match.

During the Ranji Trophy match, the pitch was criticized for being too slow and unresponsive, leading to a low-scoring draw. The pitch is also expected to host the first Test match between India and New Zealand, scheduled to begin on November 25.

Shukla inspected the pitch and had a lengthy discussion with the pitch curator about the necessary improvements that need to be made to ensure the pitch is up to international standards for the Test match.

With the Test match approaching, the BCCI is keen on ensuring that the pitch at Green Park provides a fair contest between bat and ball, and allows for an entertaining match for fans.

The pitch at Green Park has a history of producing exciting Test matches, including India's memorable victory over South Africa in 2010. However, in recent years, the pitch has come under criticism for being too slow and unresponsive.

The BCCI's intervention is a positive step towards addressing the concerns about the pitch at Green Park and ensuring that it is ready to host a high-quality Test match between India and New Zealand.
